Fort Wayne businesses have an opportunity to save money while at the same time being more environmentally friendly by participating in the upcoming City of Fort Wayne’s - Green City Business training session.

A few spots are still open for the February 9 training session at the downtown Allen County Public Library.  Businesses must register for the FREE workshop by Friday, February 5.  Interested businesses and organizations should call 427-6059 to register for the half-day workshop or they can register online at www.cityoffortwayne.org/energy/gb .

The nationally recognized Green City Business program helps businesses and organizations adopt more environmentally friendly business practices that save them money. Training focuses on solutions that help businesses prevent pollution, reduce solid waste and conserve energy and water.

Through the program’s mentoring component, Green City Businesses serve as a resource and example to other businesses and organizations in the community.

In 2009, the City conducted three Green City Business training sessions attended by 77 businesses.
